Rescue and law enforcement units flooded Chicago’s South Side on Saturday October 4, 2025, after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents shot a woman identified as 30-year-old Marimar Martinez,  during a chaotic confrontation involving multiple vehicles, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed.
Officials said the incident unfolded when a convoy of 10 cars rammed into federal vehicles, trapping Border Patrol and ICE agents near the Broadview area, prompting them to open fire.
