Kyiv Endures Deadly Barrage As Russia Expands Air Campaign

Kyiv awoke to another night of terror after Russian forces unleashed what Ukrainian officials described as a “massive attack” on the capital and multiple regions across the country. At least four people were killed and 27 wounded in the capital, while a separate strike on Zaporizhzhia injured 16, including three children.

Ukraine’s foreign minister said Moscow had launched “hundreds of drones and missiles” in the overnight bombardment, one of the heaviest in recent months. Ukraine: Allies Fear Disaster Near Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant

Ukrainian emergency services have been practicing how to respond in case of a catastrophe close to the Zaporizhzhia facility. The US, the UK, France, Germany, and others have emphasised the necessity of ensuring the security of nuclear plants which is at risk from the situation in Ukraine.
The four leaders also reaffirmed their backing for Ukraine in the face of Russia’s aggression while speaking in phone on Sunday.
There are already worries of a catastrophe as Moscow and Kyiv accuse each other of bombarding a nuclear plant controlled by Russia.
