Zenith Bank rewarded three Yobe students who won the global TeenEagle competition in London with the huge sum of ₦5m each, for academic excellence.

Zenith Bank Plc has awarded a total of ₦15 million to three Nigerian students from Yobe State who emerged champions at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London. The students — Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Hadiza Kashim Kalli — earned top honors at the prestigious international competition, bringing pride to their state and country. The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan has finally thrown in the towel saying that he has resolved not to appeal the judgment delivered on Wednesday by the Federal High Court, Damaturu, in Yobe State, as it concerns the forthcoming Yobe North Senatorial District elections.

Boko Haram Kills Six Policemen In Dapchi

The Executive Secretary of Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Dr. Mohammed Goje has confirmed the death of six policemen in Wednesday night attack on Dapchi town by suspected  Boko Haram.

Dr. Goje who visited Dapchi with the Commissioner for Sports, said his team evacuated the bodies to the Gen. Sani Abatcha Specialist Hospital mortuary where they would be kept for identification by family members before  burial.

According to him, the insurgents burnt down the military base in the town and a section of the police station of the town.

Report coming from Dapchi, the headquarters of Bursari Local Government Area of Yobe State revealed that Boko Haram attacked the town on Wednesday evening. According to Channels Television, the suspected Boko Haram members attacked the town which is 100 kilometers from Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

Report from locals revealed that the attackers came to the town where Leah Sharibu and about 100 students of Government Girls Science Technical College were abducted in February 2018, through neighboring Jumbam village Channels Television has reported.
