Kenya is negotiating with the World Bank for a $750 million loan for budgetary support, documents on the proposed funding posted on the lender’s website showed.

The East African nation has multiple development funding programs, worth billions of dollars, with the World Bank but the funding bypasses the Kenyan treasury and is usually channeled straight into the projects.

Nigeria’s U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets have qualified for the World Cup holding later in the year in Brazil.

The Manu Garba-tutored boys defeated Angola 1-0 in Tanzania at the ongoing Africa qualifiers.

The World Bank has said it will spend 15 billion dollars from 2021 to 2023 to help Nigeria and other African countries strengthen their human capital.

The World Bank Vice President for Africa, Mr Hafez Ghanem, said this at the launch of the bank’s Africa Human Capital Plan during the World Bank-IMF Spring Meetings on Thursday.

Ghanem said that the objective of the plan was to enable Africa’s young people to grow up in optimal health, and be equipped with the right skills to compete in the digitising global economy.
