The Misinterpretation Of Feminism By Today's African Ladies

The Misinterpretation Of Feminism By Today’s African Ladies

Nothing on earth is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. For many years, a better percentage of African ladies have continued to embrace the erroneously flawed belief that feminism was all about an unseen rivalry between male and female genders. Anytime the concept of feminism comes into a conversation, they immediately conclude that they were up for some muscle-flexing game between opposing genders which is further fuelled by a desperate contrivance to bring men under control and end or suppress their chauvinistic posturing. This is all shades of wrong.

It is sad that people do not understand that …

Why The World Must Condemn Taliban’s Unfair War On Women

Why The World Must Condemn Taliban’s Unfair War On Women

Just like Leopards are never known to possess the ability to change the indelible spots on their skins, the Islamic extremist group that runs Afghanistan known as the Taliban will struggle to eternity to stop itself from manifesting its true, ugly, and wicked colours through its actions.

A fortnight ago, the group added another absurdity to their long list of atrocities against humanity. This time, women were their victims and as usual, they had zero apologies.

The Taliban has taken another stride in its war against women with its recent ban which prevents women from attending universities, and also from …

In Historic Ruling, US Supreme Court Ends Right To Abortion

In Historic Ruling, US Supreme Court Ends Right To Abortion

In a landmark decision that overturns 50 years of constitutional protections on one of the most contentious and fiercely contested topics in American politics, the US Supreme Court on Friday abolished the right to an abortion.

The conservative-dominated court declared that individual states can now legalise or restrict the procedure on their own, overturning the historic ‘Roe v. Wade’ ruling from 1973 that established a woman’s right to an abortion.

‘The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled, and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives,’ …

Refugee Women Facing Greater Violence Risk During Crisis

Displaced women and girls are facing a heightened risk of gender-based violence during the coronavirus crisis, the UN Refugee Agency said Monday.

The UNHCR said they may be forced into “survival sex” or child marriages.

Lockdowns imposed to control the spread of COVID-19 have restricted movement and led to the closure of services.

“We need to pay urgent attention to the protection of refugee, displaced and stateless women and girls at the time of this pandemic,” said Gillian Triggs, the UNHCR assistant high commissioner for protection.

“They are among those most at-risk. Doors should not be left open for …

Elderly Black Women In South Africa Win Property Rights

Johannesburg — For black women married before 1988, the husband owned all matrimonial assets and could sell them without consulting his wife – until a landmark win this month overturned the law

Under South African law, married couples own all their assets jointly and both must consent to major transactions.

But for black women married prior
