Doctors To Face Charges Over Death Of Pregnant Woman

Two doctors with Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, have appeared before the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria Tribunal, to answer charges of gross professional negligence.

The doctors, Iyiola Adewale and Adigba Onodjohwoyovwe, are accused of gross professional negligence which led to the death of a patient in their care.

The prosecuting counsel, Mr Nasiru Aliyu, told the tribunal on Monday in Asaba that the defendants while on duty on March 7, 2017, negligently handled one of their patients, a pregnant woman, Mrs Rita Uchebuego, now late.

How woman who wanted $1m fake notes defrauded ₦700,000

A 28-year-old woman,  Titilayo Shittu, on  Monday appeared before an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, for allegedly obtaining  N700,000 under false pretences of printing one million dollars for her victim.

Shittu is standing trial for conspiracy, obtaining under false pretences, stealing and breach of the peace.

She, however,  pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Ola Adelowo, told the court that the defendant  collected the sum from the complainant,  Mrs Vivian Uzor after hypnotising her.

Police nab 50-year old woman for buying baby for ₦500,000

A 50-year old woman has been arrested by the police for allegedly buying a new born baby at the rate of N500, 000 at No. 3 Onyekwore street, Awada, Onitsha in Anambra state.

The suspect, Juliet Onweagba, was said to have conspired with a 49-year old woman, Edith Ewudo, to purchase the baby from one Ndidi Egeonu.

Woman kidnap baby from housemaid in Onitsha church

An unnamed woman has allegedly abducted an 18-month-old baby at a Catholic Church in Awada, Onitsha, Anambra State.

The victim, Chibuike Ezechukwu, was reportedly stolen from a housemaid during offering.

Woman delivered of five babies

A 42-year-old woman has given birth to five babies (quintuplets) at Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Lokoja, Kogi, after 18 years of barrenness.

Mrs Uchenna Okeigbo and her kids are in good condition, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Okeigbo, a native of Olokoro Amangbo Community, Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State , gave birth to three boys and two girls on Wednesday, April 17 through Caesarean Section.

Woman in court for gripping, squeezing manhood

A 31-year- old woman identified as Jennifer Ola has been arraigned before an Oredo Magistrate court for gripping and squeezing the manhood of one Luis Adjuya.

Jennifer was said to committed the offence alongside one Israel Idowu, aged 29.

Both were said to have committed offence on March 29, 2019 at No 8 Akali Street off Ekenwan Road, Bénin City.

Israel was accused of assaulting Luis with fist blows.
