There Is No Country Where Killers Walk Freely Like Nigeria

Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, has lamented that there was no place in the world where human lives were slaughtered anyhow without the perpetrators caught and brought to face justice like in Nigeria.

He spoke at the 3rd General Assembly and peace conference with the theme: ”Inter-Religious Dialogue: Strengthening the Culture of Peace, Reconciliation and Justice”, in Abuja on Wednesday.

Kukah stressed that Nigeria must move from talking to taking action.

Kukah noted that the country must find a way

Where Is Diezani In Bayelsa Politics

A few years ago, Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, was not only powerful but influential. She was the go-to person if you wanted anything done. She was also constantly in the news as one of the few cabinet members who had the ears of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

It was no surprise, therefore, that her exquisite detached house in Lekki Phase 1 Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos, was heavily guarded by mobile policemen and naval ratings.

But as the popular as the saying goes, the only thing constant in life is change. Today, the number of boats anchored …

Where Is Fayemi Leading Ekiti?

Segun Dipe raises a poser on some of the milestones of Kayode Fayemi administration in Ekiti State

“I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion.” –Alexander the Great

If you talk to most people, you will discover that they actually mean well in their criticism of what government does. Joe Aribo: Putting His Money Where His Heart Is

When Joe Aribo chose to don the colours of his fatherland – Nigeria – as against the land of his birth – Britain – he seems to know what he stands to prove. In his first game against Ukraine in an international friendly in September, Joe Aribo put up a Man-of-the-Match performance to launch his international career. And if that was not convincing enough, his show in the high profile encounter against five-times world champions, Brazil, left no one in doubt about the makeup of the Glasgow Rangers midfielder

Joe Aribo has proved to be a brilliant signing with Steven …

Boko Haram: Where Are Nur Alkali And the Borno Elders Now?

By Yemi Adebowale

In early March 2013, former President Goodluck Jonathan was in Maiduguri to engage Borno elders on the Boko Haram scourge. It was the final day of his 48-hour on-the-spot assessment of Yobe and Borno, the epicenter of the insurgency. The Borno elders openly, and rightfully too, confronted Jonathan over the escalating assault by the terrorists. They challenged Jonathan to rise to the occasion as Nigeria’s Chief Security Officer and tame Boko Haram. At the town hall meeting, the Borno elders blamed the federal government for the terrorism and also accused the soldiers of the Joint Task Force …

Lagos State Is Dying, And Decaying; Where Is Sanwo-Olu?

Lagos State Is Dying And Decaying; Where Is Sanwo-Olu?

By Ugoji Egbujo

Lagos is breaking.

It’s being crushed by the weight of a silent mass influx of the young, hungry and jobless. The country has few cities. Many of them are troubled. Lagos has a mythical reputation. They say it’s the city where magic can happen. Abuja is too organized. Lagos is where the transition from oblivion to heaven isn’t just only possible but can happen in a jiffy. But that’s not all. Lagos is perhaps the place where there is no shame. People are therefore getting fed up and leaving their ponds for the big river. And …
