According to the VP, the plant will subsequently produce rolling stock, wagon, spare parts and maintenance equipment needed for the various railway projects of the federal government across the country.

Railway Wagon Assemblyβll Generate 5000 Jobs β Amaechi
Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has said that the railway wagon assembly plant under construction at Kajola in Ogun State, would generate about 5,000 jobs when completed.
The Minister said this at the weekend during the plantβs ground-breaking ceremony performed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at the project site in Kajola.
Amaechi described the plant as one of the gains of the Federal Governmentβs partnership with the Chinese Civil Engineering and Construction Company (CCECC) under the ongoing rail construction projects, particularly the contract for the supply of rolling stock for the Abuja-Kaduna, Warri-Itakpe and Lagos-Ibadan rail lines.
