UAE Announces Visa Ban On Nigerians, Rejects Applications

Immigration authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have announced a visa ban on Nigerians submitting that all submitted applications stand rejected while fees are non-refundable.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that the announcement became public knowledge late Friday in a notice issued to its trade partners in Nigeria including travel agencies.

Although no reason was provided for the ban, the Dubai authorities have now confirmed that all applications were on-hold until issues between the UAE government and the Nigerian government were effectively thrashed out.

As Nigerians grapple with the reality of the visa ban slammed on the country and five others, the United States has donated an additional $40 million to assist humanitarian efforts in the northeast.
The United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, announced the donation at the end of the 5th Session of the Nigeria-United States of America Bi-national Commission held in Washington D.C, United States.
