Forty-two political parties on the platform of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) Kano State chapter are set to challenge the re-election of the state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in court.

Sokoto APC rejects Tambuwal’s victory

The Sokoto State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday rejected the declaration of Gov. Aminu Tambuwal as winner of the just-concluded governorship election in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has earlier declared Tambuwal winner of the election after Saturday’s supplementary with a narrow margin of 342 votes,

Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has described the verdict of Osun gubernatorial election tribunal which gave victory to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke, as a victory for democracy.

Ekweremadu, who reacted to the Tribunal’s verdict on his social media handle @Iamekweremadu, noted that the verdict was victory “for the sanctity of the ballot box, victory for the rule of law, and indeed victory for democracy”.

Imo gubernatorial poll: INEC robbed me of victory – Nwosu

The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the just-concluded gubernatorial election in Imo state, Uche Nwosu, has said that the declaration of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Emeka Ihedioha, as the governor-elect, did not meet the constitutional requirement and therefore unacceptable.

He vowed to challenge the results of the election in the Court, stating that the declaration by the Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, was a clear violation of the provisions of the Constitution.
