FRSC : 3 Dead, 1 Injured As Vehicle Rams Into Tricycle

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Sunday, confirmed that three people died in an accident involving an articulated vehicle and a tricycle on Mgbuka-Nkpor road in Onitsha.

The Sector Commander, Mr Andrew Kumapayi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka, that the accident occurred at about 1.46 p.m.

Kumapayi explained that the driver of the articulated vehicle with no registration number lost control and rammed into a tricycle (Keke NAPEP), which was conveying three passengers.

The Rector of The Polytechnic Ibadan, Professor Kazeem Adebiyi, on Friday declared that students’ union is not a vehicle to intimidate fellow students and members of the public.

Adebiyi made this declaration while speaking during the swearing in ceremony of the Students’ Union executives and Students’ Representative Council held at the North Campus Assembly Hall of the institution.

The Imo State Police Command are still trying to unravel the mystery behind an attempted suicide by Ifeanyi Onuoha, 30, from Umuoye Imeriewen in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State.

According to the state police public relation officer, Orlando Ikokwu, Onuoha, at about 3pm on Monday, saw an oncoming commercial vehicle along Nkwoala, Ahiazu Mbaise road owned by Chinedu Ibiam and jumped in front of it.

IGP bans use of unmarked, covered vehicle number-plates

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has proscribed with immediate effect the covering of vehicle number-plates by all unauthorised vehicle users across the country.

The IGP gave the order yesterday in Abuja following intelligence report that the unwholesome practice may be deployed by some unscrupulous persons to aid the commission of electoral-related offences before, during and after the Saturday, March 9, 2019 governorship and House of Assembly elections.
