3 Guards Arrested For Alleged Vandalism At Warri Refinery

No fewer than 3 persons have been arrested by operatives of the Delta State Police Command for allegedly vandalising armored cables and other electrical installations at the Warri Refinery and Petro-Chemical Company (WRPC) in Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

This was disclosed by the acting state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, who while confirming the arrest, stated the suspects are staff of a private security company attached to the refinery.

NNPC Oil Pipeline Vandalism Rises By 115% In July

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has expressed concerns about the rate at which oil major pipelines are sabotaged in Nigeria, stating that it rose by 115 percent in July 2019.

NNPC Acting Group General Manager, Public Affairs, Mr. Samson Makoji, quoting from July 2019 Monthly Financial and Operations Report (MFOR) of the oil corporation, said 228 points were broken on the countryโ€™s pipelines in the month under review.

The breached lines represented an awful increase from the 106 vandalised points recorded in June 2019, it added.
