Nuclear Talks With Iran ‘Cannot Go On Indefinitely’ – Blinken

US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken on Thursday stated that nuclear talks with Iran ‘cannot go on indefinitely’ but that Washington was ‘fully prepared’ to continue negotiations.

Africa Daily News, New York understands that the US is indirectly involved in Iran’s talks with world powers to revive a nuclear deal that gave Iran some relief from international sanctions in exchange for limits on its nuclear programme.

The deal was torpedoed in 2018 by then US President Donald Trump, who unilaterally withdrew from the agreement and imposed punishing sanctions.

China Sanctions Mike Pompeo, 27 Other Trump Officials

China, on Wednesday, imposed sanctions against former US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo and 27 other officials of the Trump administration.

The action came 24 hours after Pompeo accused China of genocide against Uighur Muslims.

The announcement was made as Joe Biden took oath of office as President.

China said Pompeo and others had “executed a series of crazy moves, gravely interfered in China’s internal affairs, undermined China’s interests, offended the Chinese people, and seriously disrupted China-US relations”.

US Sanctions 6 Nigerians Over $6m Fraud

The United States government has sanctioned six Nigerians over $6million cyber fraud against its citizens.

Micheal Pompeo, US secretary of state, said this in a statement published on the department of state’s website on Tuesday.

Pompeo said the victims were defrauded through the use of sensitive information and financial resources derived by manipulative means which will not be tolerated.

The Nigerians listed were identified as Benson Orson, Kayode Abiola, Ogunshakin Alex, Okpoh Felix, Olorunyomi Micheal, Uzuh Richard.
