In a fresh report, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have all come out to openly express their utter displeasure over the non-implementation of the ₦30,000 normal minimum wage which had been slated for workers in Zamfara State.

This had been contained in a statement which had also been jointly issued by the Acting State Secretary of NLC, Mr Ahmed Abubakar and TUC Secretary, Sani Kwotorkwoshi, on Thursday in Gusau.

Insecurity: TUC Lambasts Buhari, Calls For ‘Action’

The Trade Union Congress (TUC), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to as a matter of urgent national importance end his lamentations and act fast on the increasing cases of insecurity bedeviling the country.

The union also urged the Nigerian military and all security officials to act swiftly to address the problem of insecurity and stop it from getting worse.

Trade Union Congress Appeals To ASUU To Reconsider Demands

Reacting to the strike action that has spanned for so many months, the Nigerian Trade Union Congress (TUC) has made open appeals to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to shift ground and reconsider some of their demands by making some concessions so that the Nigerian university students can return to school after being forced to stay at home since February.

Removing Minimum Wage Will Enslave Workers – NLC, TUC

Workers on the platform of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), have declared that any attempt to remove the minimum wage from the exclusive list is an attempt to enslave Nigerian workers.

The workers made this disclosure when they protested against the removal of minimum wage from the exclusive list.

8 States Yet To Pay New Minimum Wage: TUC Warns

The Trade Union Congress (TUC), has said that eight states are yet to commence the payment of the new minimum wage and its consequential adjustments.

The TUC President, Mr Quadri Olaleye, and Secretary General, Mr Musa-Lawal Ozigi, in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos, said that the union had written to the governors and also engaged them in dialogue, but without any success.
