Five Die In Christmas Road Tragedy

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Niger said on Wednesday that five people were killed in an accident along Bida- Kutigi road of Bida Local Government Area.

NAN reports that similar accident occurred on Tuesday at Bonu village along Lambata-Minna road resulting to loss of 5 lives and injuring of several others.
FRSC Sector Commander, Joel Dagwa, disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Wednesday.

Tragedy As Nigerian Passenger Slumps At MMIA Lagos

A Nigerian passenger, Jude Oladapo, on Saturday slumped and died while undergoing boarding procedures at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

Spokesperson for the MMIA Police Command, Lagos, DSP Joseph Alabi, confirmed the development to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos.

Alabi said that the 44-year-old passenger was about boarding an Air France flight when he suddenly slumped after receiving news that his wife had died.

According to him, the incident happened at about 5.30 p.m. and the deceased was confirmed dead by Dr Ajayi Olamide of the MMIA Medical Clinic.

Tragedy! 19 passengers burnt to death in Ondo accident

Tragedy struck, yesterday, along Akure/Owo Expressway in Ondo State, as no fewer than 19 persons died in a fatal road accident that involved two vehicles. They were burnt beyond recognition.

The Guardian learnt a truck, while trying to dodge a pothole, rammed into an 18-seater bus going from Lagos to the North with number plate: YLA 25 XU.  The accident occurred at the Oba-Ile area, in Akure North Local Council, which is known for several failed portions.  A witness said the head-on collision ignited fire, which affected two other vehicles.
