A leaked letter which was obtained by HURIWA have shown that some of the justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria were urged to form a trade union in response to some of their complaints of budget allocation and allowances.

The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) had earlier recalled a media leak of a letter by the justices. In the leaked letter, some of the members of Nigeria’s judiciary had expressed their concerns over their budgetary allocations that have not been increased in the last four years.
