The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has thrown some bants at some of the PDP Governors when he had reiterated his earlier claims that he was not like his Kogi State counterpart, Yahaya Bello.

He had made this statement when he has spoken at the launch of a book, “Selected Leading Judgments of the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court,” authored by retired Justice Abdu Aboki.

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has on Thursday reiterated his earlier announcement that he will not be giving up on the fight for the removal of Senator Iyorcha Ayu as the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Governor Nyesom Wike had made this statement in Port Harcourt, his state capital as some other chieftains of PDP were busy at the National Executive Council, NEC of their party in Abuja where they had also passed a vote of confidence on Ayu.

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has finally come out to clarify and reiterate his earlier statements that alleged that he claimed to be in charge of all the Rivers States votes.

According to the Governor, he had never claimed to be in charge of electoral votes but the administration of Rivers State. Wike while he had also been reacting to some of the comments after he made the statement on Monday had revealed that some of the  politicians in Rivers State had come to misconceived his assertion.

Pensioners in Rivers State have finally breathed a little sigh of relief as Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State Governor finally approved the immediate payment of outstanding gratuity, monthly pension, arrears, and death benefits of retirees in the state public service which came after persistent protests by Pensioners in the State.

A statement by the Director-General of the Rivers State Pension Board, Samuel Ijeoma said the exercise will be done in batches.

It said the first batch is for all those who retired up to June 2014.
