The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has finally condemned some of the recent attacks which had taken place in Benue State.

It had been reported that over 50 persons had been gunned down by some suspected herdsmen in Gbeji town in Ukum LGA of Benue State and the President had also revealed that it is unacceptable for lives to be taken by herdsmen and farmers alike.

The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has on Tuesday in Abuja conferred a series of National Honours on up to 450 Nigerians and non-Nigerians, among them being the Director General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Deputy Secretary-General of UN, Amina Mohammed and Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Prof Tijjani Muhammad-Bande.

The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has on Tuesday announced that the collective efforts of nations towards tackling security challenges across the globe and within Nigeria is very important.

President Buhari has urged more collaboration to check terrorism, banditry and insurgency.

Buhari made the assertions while receiving Letters of Credence of the Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador James Kingston Christoff and Ambassador of Mexico to Nigeria, Juan Alfred Miranda Oritz, at the State House, The President told the diplomats that successes in taming insecurity had been recorded through collaboration across borders and that more could be achieved.
