The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to instruct soldiers not to shoot any of the youths protesting police brutality.

NUJ said that as men of the Nigerian Army take over the streets across the country in the name of Operation Crocodile Smile, Buhari should instruct the troops to ensure that none of the protesting youths is killed or brutalised during the exercise.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has lambasted the former minister of aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode for verbally assaulting Cross River State Correspondent of the Daily Trust Newspaper, Eyo Charles.

The PDP chieftain had held a press conference in Cross River State at the end of his tour of states in the South-South region controlled by the party.

The ex-minister in a viral video was seen attacking the journalist and calling him stupid for asking the ex-minister if his tour was being sponsored by any politician or political group.

NUJ Kicks As Armed Men Arrest Chairman, Demands Release

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ebonyi State council has condemned in totality what it tagged as the unwarranted arrest of its chairman, Tony Nwizi by armed gunmen in police uniform.

It was gathered that the said armed squad stormed the residence of Tony Nwizi, who is the state chairman of NUJ at the early hours of Saturday.

The union in a statement signed by the Vice-Chairman, Comrade Benjamin Nworie  in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital, demanded the unconditional release of Tony Nwizi.
