Abortion Guidelines Suspended By Gov Sanwo-Olu

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has on Thursday ordered the full suspension of the “State Guidelines on Safe Termination of Pregnancy for Legal Indications” which had been issued by the Directorate of Family Health and Nutrition in the Ministry of Health.

Governor Sanwo-Olu had revealed that the suspension would allow for adequate public sensitisation and stakeholder engagement which would have helped to reach a consensus required for successful guideline development.
