INEC Swears In 19 New RECs, Warns Against Govt Houses

In a fresh development, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have reportedly  sworn in up to 19 newly-appointed Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) in an appointment which would be coming ahead of the 2023 general elections.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who had also performed the ceremony on Thursday at the INEC headquarters in Abuja had also warned most of the officials that they would not to be visitors to government houses in order to maintain their neutrality in the matter.

2023: INEC Deletes 2.7 Million Ineligible Registrants

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has again made another announcement which revealed that it has discovered 2.7 million cases of some double registration which had been carried out during the recently concluded Continuous Voter Registration.

The commission  had also revealed that all the affected persons have been deleted from the voter register.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has reiterated that it is currently being burdened with a huge logistics nightmare on its hands which comes in form of transporting sensitive materials for the 2023 election.

INEC Confirms Start Of Campaigns In Edo

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that it has lifted the ban on campaigns by political parties ahead of the governorship election in Edo state.

Mr Timidi Wariowei, the INEC Head of Voter Education in Edo, said that the campaigns officially commenced on June 21.

“Campaigns have officially started in the state. Campaigns starts 90 days to the election and it started on June 21”, he said.

Wariowei also disclosed that the office had taken delivery of some non-sensitive materials and distributed the same to the 18 local government areas of the state.
