The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has sacked the Vice-Chancellor of Imo State University, Prof. Victoria Adaobi Obasi, and ordered a forensic audit of the higher institution amid allegations of monumental corrupt practices as reported by a panel.

The panel recently investigated the university’s activities between 2012-2019.

The sack was contained in a press statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku on Friday.

The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma has revealed, that he became the APC Governorship candidate of Imo State in the last election, through what he tagged “the Ben Johnson way”.

Governor Hope Uzodinma made this public while addressing Stakeholders of the party in the state, over who was entitled to anything in the Government. He revealed that he had come from outside, and did not have a structure in the party, but was able to manoeuvre his way through the “Ben Johnson way”, to get the party ticket.
