No Going Back On Water Resources Bill – FG

The Federal Government has insisted there is no going back on the passage of the National Water Resources Bill.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, stated this during a press conference on Tuesday.

Mohammed addressed the media along with the Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu.

The controversial bill was rejected in the 8th Assembly, but has been reintroduced in the 9th National Assembly.

This had led to criticisms from stakeholders, who question the motives behind it.

Bauchi, FG To Construct 4,000 Housing Units For Low Income Earners

The Federal Government in partnership with the Bauchi State government is set to commence construction of new multi-billion naira 4,000 housing units in the state for low-income earners.

This was revealed on Saturday by the Managing Director, Family Homes Fund, Mr Femi Adewole, at a partnership meeting among
the state government, Family Homes Fund and organized Labour held at the Government House in Bauchi.

According to Adewole, the new housing project is being constructed under the Federal Government’s Social Housing Programme as part of its plans to provide people of low income with affordable accommodations.

FG Gives Update On Full Reopening Of Schools

The Federal Government has said it has not come to a point where it is convinced that schools should be reopened for academic exercise after their closure due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja at a meeting of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 with the Northern Traditional Leaders Committee (NTLC) on National Primary Health.

The meeting was presided over by the Minister of Information and Culture on behalf of the Chairman of PTF and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, NAN reports.
