TETFund Fraud: Submit Reports Within 3 Weeks – Reps Threaten

The Nigerian House of Representatives while reacting to News of massive fraud in the system  has on Thursday threatened to cut off all forms of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, from funding any of the state tertiary institutions.

Aminu Suleiman who is a member of the House of Representatives Committee on Tertiary Education and Services had noted that the TETFun should mandate state institutions benefiting from its interventions to submit reports of their operations within three weeks.

Students To Petition EFCC Over ₦208bn Fraud In TETFUND

University Students, under the auspices of the National Association of Universities’ Students( (NAUS), have threatened to petition the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate alleged plundering of over N208 billion Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) released to the agency by the federal government.

The association said the action became expedient to rescue universities from infrastructural deficit caused by high level of corruption in the utilisation of TETFUND revenues and mismanagement of funds in higher institutions by managements.

The National Association of University Students (NAUS), has appealed to the Federal Government to probe the disbursement of the whooping sum of N208 billion Tertiary Education Trust fund (TETfund) allotted to execute special projects in public universities across the nation, in 2019.

VC Tasks FG To Include Private Varsities In TETFund

Vice-Chancellor of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, in Ogun State, Prof  Adeniyi Agunbiade has appealed to the Federal Government to include private universities in the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) intervention grant.

Agunbiade made the appeal at  a briefing on the forthcoming convocation ceremony  of the institution.
