Bandits Attack Abuja-Kaduna Road, Abduct Many Travellers

Bandits yesterday attacked commuters along the Abuja-Kaduna highway, abducting an unspecified number of travellers and injuring many others.

The spokesman of the Kaduna Police Command Mohammed Jalige told reporters on Wednesday night that the bandits had about 4: 20 pm blocked the Audu Ogbe portion of the Highway, near Katari village.

He revealed that they intercepted some vehicles, and during the process, took some persons away to an unknown destination.

ISWAP Attacks Chibok, Kills Three, Injures Many

A traditional ruler’s son and two internally displaced persons hosted in Kautikari village of Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State were among those killed following a fresh invasion of the village by fighters of the Islamic State for West African Province, ISWAP.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered from locals who fled the village that the name of the traditional ruler’s son is Mr Bulama Wadir.

Unidentified gunmen, suspected to be connected with Al Qaeda or ISWAP have killed 15 people who were gathered for a baptism at a village in Burkina Faso.

The tragic attack happened in northern Burkina Faso on Tuesday night, the government said on Wednesday.

The attack took place in Adjarara, about 7 km (4 miles) from the town of Tin-Akoff in Oudalan province, very close to the border with Mali, according to a statement from the governor of Burkina Faso’s Sahel region.

It was unclear who carried out the attack, but Islamist groups control large swathes of the area.

Residents told NAN that the incident occurred on Christmas eve, throwing the whole community into pandemonium.
