Egberongbe Seeks End To Apapa Tankers’ Invasion

MUFUTAU Egberongbe, member representing Apapa Constituency in the House of Representatives, has raised alarm over the fresh invasion of Apapa by petroleum tankers. 

Egberongbe, in a statement last week, called on Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to explain to Nigerians factors responsible for the recent return of gridlock and insanity to the area.

Anambra Bans Day Movement Of Petrol Tankers Over Fire

Following the indiscriminate bursting into flames of trucks carrying petroleum products in Anambra State in recent times, the state government has ordered a ban on their movement in the state during the day.

Within two days, in October, the state witnessed three petrol tanker incidents, while one more happened on  October 31, also in Onitsha.

The notice of the ban was contained in a press release by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. CDon Adinuba.

Two Saudi Arabian oil tankers damaged off the coast of UAE

Saudi Arabia said Monday that two of its oil tankers had been sabotaged off the coast of the United Arab Emirates, in attacks it described as posing a threat to the security of global oil supplies.

Four tankers were targeted overall, according to the UAE, in what the country said was a “sabotage attack” that took place near the strategic port of Fujairah on Sunday.
Tensions have risen in the oil-rich region in recent weeks amid the deployment of a growing number of United States military assets to the Middle East due to deteriorating relations with Iran.
