Suspected P/Harcourt ‘serial killer,’ how he killed victim

Suspected Port Harcourt serial killer Gracious David West has told the Nigerian police that he used pillowcases to tie a victim before killing her in a hotel room in Rukpokwu, about 18 kilometres from Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital city.

26-year-old West, whom the police said is a cultist, was arrested on Wednesday on East-West Road en route to Uyo from Port Harcourt.

West said in a video the Nigerian police posted to its official Twitter handle he had transactional sex with a nameless victim. Hours later, the victim was killed.

EFCC nabs seven suspected Internet fraudsters in Kwara

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested four suspected internet fraudsters in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The suspects are: Kayode Obanewo (aka Samantha James), Muhammed Ademola (aka Catherine Smith), Yusuf Rasheed (aka Rebecca Moore) and Apata Oluwakayode (aka Hanna Cole).

It was gathered that the suspects were arrested on June 11 at Mandate Estate Phase II behind Irewolede area of operatives of the Ilorin zonal office of the EFCC.

Suspected herdsmen yesterday went on the prowl again on the dreaded Ife-Ibadan expressway, killing a civil servant, Mr. Adenipekun Ademiju.

Five residents at a retirement home in southern France have died and more than a dozen others are in a serious condition after a suspected case of mass food poisoning, officials said Monday.

Twenty-two people at the privately operated Cheneraie residence in Lherm, a town south of Toulouse, began showing symptoms including vomiting after dinner on Sunday, police said.

Four deaths were initially announced by officials, and a source close to the investigation later told AFP that a fifth person had died.

The victims — four women and a man — were aged between 72 and 95.

Angry mob on Thursday lynched a suspected ritualist at Akenfa a suburb of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.

He was reportedly caught red-handed while trying to cut the body of a young lady he was accused of killing by the mob.

A suspected visas racketeer, Yomi Samson, was on Monday, arraigned before Justice Joyce Abdumalik of the Federal High Court 2, Ibadan, on a three-count charge bordering on possession of fake documents, obtaining money under false pretence and misleading an officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
