Ifeanyi Ubah In Eye Of The Storm

There are very interesting parallels in life. Thomas de Quincey called out in poetic song, “eloquent opium! that with thy potent rhetoric stealest away the purposes of wrath, and to the guilty man, for one night givest back the hopes of his youth, and hands washed pure from blood; and, to the proud man, a brief oblivion for “wrongs unredressed and insults unavenged…””. Although he says nothing about debt, Chinua Achebe charitably fills the gap, explaining that debt may get mouldy, but it never decays. In fewer words, wine and drink can make one drunk and forget, but debt is …

Investigations by The Guardian last week show that property owners within the state still have to battle with high charges on their properties even as many of them had to approach the assessment appeal tribunal to seek redress from what they called, ‘outrageous financial burden’.

The Lagos state land use charge is a property tax backed by the Land Use

Ihedioha signs three more bills into law

Governor Emeka Ihedioha in the eye of the storm

By Ejimkeonye Caesar Munachiso

I have never been a fan of former Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State due to gubernatorial flamboyance and his trivialization of governance through constant exhibition of acts of superlative “iberiberism.”

The ‘do or die’ disposition with which he tried to perpetuate himself in office through his son-inlaw easily attest to the mess he made of Imo State and the need to cover it up by hook or by crook.
Thus anyone, especially those who rejected him and voted for Emeka Ihedioha would naturally expect a Hercules in Ihedioha, for the Augean stable needs thorough cleaning. …
