Sowore: Malami Speaks On ‘US Letter’ Warning Buhari Govt

Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, on Sunday declared that he did not receive any correspondence from the United States, US, lawmakers over the re-arrest and continued detention of Omoyele Sowore, convener of the RevolutionNow protest.

Malami stated that no such letter got to his office before the close of work last Friday.

Sowore has been in custody of the Department of State Service, DSS, since he called for a revolution earlier in the year.

Despite been granted bail by courts, the secret police had refused to set him free.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Saturday gave an update on the visa on arrival policy.

Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede, spoke on Saturday at the Immigration Training School, Kano State.

The CGI said the policy was an opportunity for Africans that were coming for legitimate businesses to thrive in countries other than their own.

He added that it was a means of integration and cementing African brotherhood and breaking the barriers of free movement among Africans.

Babandede assured Nigerians that the policy would be handled professionally through best global practices without compromising national security.

Mike Ozekhome, SAN, counsel to former Mohammed Bello Adoke, former Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, has condemned his arrest and detention.

A Federal Capital Territory, High Court, FCT, sitting in Maitama, on Friday ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to detain Adoke, for 14 days.

Justice Othman Musa held that Adoke should be held in custody pending investigation.

The judge gave the order while granting an ex-parte motion moved by EFCC’s lawyer, Fatima Mustapha to that effect.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has said that complains of applicants arising from recruitment portal have been resolved.

The NSC Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attah, disclosed this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday.

NAN reports that NCS opened its portal on Wednesday, April 17, for the recruitment of 3,200 officers and men to the service.
