NAFDAC Speaks On Fresh Recruitment

Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director-General, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), on Monday said the agency was considering recruiting staff to fill up vacant positions in 2020.

Adeyeye told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Tuesday in Abuja that the recruitment became necessary because the agency was too understaffed to effectively perform its statutory duties.

She said that the agency hoped and prayed that it would get employees in 2020 to drive its mandate of safeguarding the health of Nigerians.

Police Speaks On Kidnap Of 40 Nigerians In Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command on Monday denied reports making rounds online that about 40 persons were kidnapped by bandits along Jibia – Batsari road on Sunday.

The Command Spokesman, Superintendent Gambo Isa, in a statement, described the news as a ’’ mere rumour’’ and urged the public to disregard such information.

It was reported that bandits numbering over sixty, armed with AK 47 rifles on Friday blocked the Jibia – Batsari road in Ruma village, Katsina State.

The Federal Government says it is studying the situation on change of West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) currency, Eco, to be used as ECOWAS single currency.

Nigeria’s former national security adviser Sambo Dasuki has said he has no feud with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Border Closure: Nigerian Govt Speaks On Date Of Reopening

Nigeria’s government has said there is no fixed date for the reopening of the country’s land borders, which were closed in August this year.

President Muhammadu Buhari had explained that the borders were closed, to prevent smuggling of banned items.
