Jet Crashes Into Fence At Lagos Airport

A Jet in the fleet of Jedidiah Air has crashed into a fence at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT), local wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

It was gathered that the aircraft, King Air 200 Jet was re-parking when it rammed into the fence at the tarmac close to a facility used by Bristow Helicopters.

The King Air 200 jet with registration number 5N-HIS is being operated by Mobil Oil Nigeria-Wings Aviation.

The accident reportedly occurred due to brake failure, which caused significant damage to the aircraft.

Another three-storey building has collapsed at Ebute Metta area of Lagos Mainland, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

This is coming in just two weeks in which a three-storey building collapsed on Lagos Island, Lagos, killing three people and nine others rescued.

The incident occurred at 95, Abeokuta Street by Cemetry, Ebute Metta, around 1:10pm on Friday, with people reportedly trapped in the debris.

Lagos Tragedy: Five Persons Perish In Boat Mishap

Five people have drowned in a  boat mishap which occurred at Ikorodu area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Friday night.

The incident occurred around 8.00pm on Friday.

The mishap occurred after a 20-passenger capacity commercial ferry with 21 passengers on board took off illegally from Èbúté Ẹrọ Jetty at about few minutes past 8.00pm heading towards Ikorodu, ran into an unforeseen object on the Waterways causing the boat to capsize.

The immediate rescue efforts deployed saved 16 alive, five dead with one survivor in critical condition.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two policemen for allegedly shooting a teenager dead at Bariga area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The two police officers are ASP Theophilus Otobo and Inspector Oguntoba Olamigoke attached to Bariga Police Station.

They allegedly shot a 17-year-old girl, Tina Ezekwe dead.
