S’west Govs, Ministers, Monarchs Urge Refitting of Nation’s Security

South-west governors, ministers and monarchs yesterday called for a comprehensive review of the nation’s security system and advised that a review and implementation of reports of constitutional conferences, including the 2014 National Conference with respect to security, among other salient issues, would be the correct decision to make.

‘Amotekun Remains A Child Of Necessity’ – Gov. Oyetola

Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, has described the South West Security Network, codenamed ‘Operation Amotekun ‘ as a child of necessity, in the face of present security challenges in the South West zone.

He explained that the urgent need to secure the South West against criminality and create conducive environment for socio-economic activities were the major factor that necessitated the creation of the security outfit, as a complement to conventional security arrangement .

Insecurity: No Going Back On Amotekun – Lagos Assembly

The Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has declared that the new security outfit, Operation Amotekun, has come to stay in the state and the South West.

The lawmaker stated this on Monday at a public hearing on a bill to establish the security operation in Lagos state.
