Tambuwal Proscribes ‘Self-Styled’ Vigilante Groups In Sokoto

The Government of Sokoto State under the leadership of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has announced the proscription of self-styled vigilante groups from operating in the state.

According to the State Government, this move was to further strengthen the efforts made towards curbing banditry and sundry crimes bedeviling the eastern flank and other parts of the state.

Two Chinese Accused Of ₦100m Bribery Offer Get Bail, Passports Seized

Justice Muhammad Saidu Sifawa of the Sokoto State High Court has granted bail to two Chinese, Messrs Meng Wei Kun and Xui Kuoi.

They are officials of China Zhonghao Nig. Ltd, a company under probe for an alleged contract scam of over ₦50billion awarded by the ex-Zamfara Governor, Abdul’aziz Yari between 2012 to 2019.

They are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for offering ₦100million bribe to the agency’s Sokoto Zonal Head, Abdulahi Lawal.

The judge granted the defendants bail in the sum of N5million
