NANS Declares War On Politicians Sharing Foreign Rice

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Monday said it is ready to embark on foreign rice hunt, with a threat to deal with any politician in possession of the imported rice.

NANS said any foreign rice found in the coffers of politicians during this festive period shall be combatantly taken over and shared to both students and orphanage homes.

In a statement made available to DAILY POST by the association’s National Public Relations Officer, Azeez Adeyemi, NANS expressed surprise that some politicians have been sharing foreign rice to their supporters during this festive period.

For sharing pornographic and indecent images, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan zonal office, on Friday, secured the conviction of one Ismail Yunus.

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division, found Yunus guilty of sending the indecent pictures through the e-mail: lindasc147@gmail.com, to defraud people and getting involved in other internet-related fraud.

The offense is contrary to Section 24 (1) (a) and punishable under Section 24 (1) (b) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention Etc) Act, 2015.

Gang member kills colleague for protesting sharing formula

The Police in Bayelsa State are searching for a suspected armed robber identified as Oginivie, who allegedly killed a member of his gang, Gialaemi Ben, for protesting an unfavorable sharing formula.

Police Commissioner, Sholla David, explained on Tuesday the manhunt for Oginivie was following the arrest of other members of his gang after the murder of the 19-year-old Ben.

David, who paraded 15 suspects arrested for various criminal activities in the state, named other arrested members of Oginivie as Victor Meremunya 30, Isaac Ogan 22, Pereowei Ibiagbe 23, Tibolayefa Louis 23 and Gift Samuel 22.
