The Philippines on Tuesday announced that she has raised the age of sexual consent to 16 after amending a near century-old law, a move child rights activists have maintained would help protect youngsters from rape and abuse.

The Gender Development and Policy Centre (Gen-Cent), University of Nigeria, Nsukka, (UNN) in collaboration with Women Aid Collective (WACOL) has taken the campaign against sexual harassment in tertiary institutions to the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC).

American singer Trey Songz is facing a $10 million (₦3,615,000,000) lawsuit for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Songz whose real name is Tremaine Neverson is being sued by an unnamed Georgia woman.  According to the lawsuit, the incident took place on January 1, 2018. Uber Reveals Thousands Of Reported Sexual Assaults In US

Ridesharing leader Uber, under fire around the world for its safety record, said it had tallied nearly 6,000 sexual assaults in the United States over the past couple of years.

That included more than 450 cases of rape, according to Uber’s first public report into the issue Thursday, which counts attacks by both passengers and drivers over 2017-18.

It also revealed 19 fatal assaults related to the company over the two-year period, when it averaged more than 3.1 million trips each day in the United States.

Three more women have come forward to police to accuse Cuba Gooding Jr. of sexual misconduct. According to “The People”, claims made by the unidentified women are being investigated and no new charges against Gooding have been filed.

Gooding’s attorney, Mark J. Heller, in a statement the claims that the three women are not “credible.”

The University of Lagos, Akoka, has set up a panel to investigate two of its lecturers accused of sexually harassing undercover reporters purportedly seeking admission and change the course of study in the institution.

Dr. Boniface Igbeneghu of the Department of European Languages and Integrated Studies, Faculty of Arts, and Dr Samuel Oladipo of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, were caught on video in a British Broadcasting Corporation documentary sexually harassing undercover reporters, who sought favour from them.
