Declaring For Presidency Now Is Unfair – Senator Orji Kalu

Former Governor of Abia State and Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has said that declaring his ambition or by anyone else for the presidential election now is unfair and will create problems in the country.

He stated that rather, those nursing the desire should at least allow President Muhammadu Buhari to serve out half of his second tenure.

Kalu stated this during a chat with newsmen in Minna, after meeting with Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, former Generals Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar in their residences in Minna.

The Nigerian Senate, Tuesday, was on stand still as Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, and former Governor of Abia State resumed for his Senatorial duties at the Red Chambers.

Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan has come under fire for leading his colleagues on a solidarity visit to the residence of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu who was recently released from the Kuje Correctional Centre.

The Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership, CACOL, blasted the Lawan-led leadership of the upper legislative chamber for playing to the gallery.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan, had on Thursday, led other Senators to the residence of the Chief Whip of the upper legislative chamber, Kalu, after the Abia lawmaker was released from prison during the week.
