Dino Melaye Decries Plan By Buhari To Impose President

Controversial former lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye has made some open allegations that President Muhammadu Buhari is working towards imposing his successor on Nigerians.

In a video on his social media handles, Dino, who lost his bid to secure Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s ticket to run for the Kogi West Senatorial District in 2023, said the country is practicing democracy and would not allow the imposition of a president.

He stated this while reacting to Buhari’s comment asking the APC governors to support him in choosing his successor.

Controversial Statesman and the former lawmaker representing Kogi West, Senator Dino Melaye in a sad turn of events has lost the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket to a serving House Representatives member, Hon. T.J Yusuf.

Africa Daily News, New York recalls that there was a tight deadlock in the Kogi West PDP Senatorial primary election where Dino Melaye scored 88 and TJ Yusuf polled 88 votes, which led to a rerun election on Tuesday.

In the rerun election conducted on Tuesday, Hon. T. J. Yusuf defeated Sen. Dino Melaye by 163 to 99 votes to pick the PDP ticket.

Court Dismisses Melaye’s Suit Challenging Adeyemi’s Election

Senator Dino Melaye has lost the bid to return to the Senate, about eight months after he was defeated in the Kogi West senatorial district election.

He contested the November 2019 poll on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and lost to Senator Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
