NSCDC Seize Over 1,900 Expired Gas Cylinders In Kaduna

In a bid to forestall disasters arising from further explosion of gas cylinders, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kaduna State command in collaboration with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), on Thursday, commenced evacuation of decommissioned LPG gas cylinders in the state.

So far, the exercise has witnessed the retrieval of 1,931 decommissioned cylinders and eight suspects have been arrested from three different locations in the metropolis.

Border Closure: Customs Seize 42 Bags Of Foreign Rice

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says it has intercepted 42 bags of foreign rice at Kankara axis of Katsina State.

The Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), Mr Sunday James, who disclosed this in a statement made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Saturday in Abuja, said that it was concealed in a vehicle.

James said that the officers were on routine patrol along the Kankara axis when they apprehended a vehicle carrying the contraband.

A former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday, raised the alarm that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had filed a fresh process in the Federal High Court, Lagos, seeking an interim order for the forfeiture of his home in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Customs seize 875 bags of rice, other goods worth ₦40m

The Customs Service, Seme Border Area Command, says it has intercepted 875 bags of foreign parboiled rice and other goods, valued at N40m, in two weeks.

ASC Nuruddeen Saidu, the Customs Public Relations Officer, Seme, Area Command, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, in Lagos.

The statement quoted that the Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Mohammed Garba, as saying that the efforts of the enforcement unit of the Command, with regard to suppression of smuggling, was yielding remarkable results.
