Scores Of Students Abducted By Bandits In Kebbi

A school in Kebbi State identified as the Federal Government College in Birnin-Yauri was yesterday attacked by Bandits who abducted scores of its students and killing a cop.

A policeman who tried to challenge the bandits was gunned down, according to witnesses in the town.

Africa Daily News, New York gathered that Birnin-Yauri is in Yelwa-Yauri LGA of the state.

FRSC Cautions Driving School Operators

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Oyo State Command, has cautioned driving school operators in the state over churning out unqualified drivers.

Oyo State FRSC Sector Commander, Mrs Uche Winifred, gave the warning on Friday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

Winifred while speaking, said operators of driving schools must ensure that applicants undergo full training before giving permission to go for test and acquire licence.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Wednesday night attacked the Good Shepherd Catholic Major Seminary, situated in Kakau, along Kaduna-Abuja road and made away with four seminarians.

At Least 28 Dead In Raid On Tripoli Military School

At least 28 people were killed and dozens injured on Saturday in an air strike on a military school in the Libyan capital Tripoli, a ministry spokesman said.

“An air raid on the military school of Tripoli killed 28 cadets and injured dozens more,” Amin al-Hashemi, spokesman for the health ministry of the Government of National Accord (GNA) said.

At the time of the strike the cadets were gathered on a parade ground before going to their dormitories, he added.

Explosion Rocks Ebonyi School

An object suspected to be an improvised explosive device has exploded at Glory Land High School,Azugwu, in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

 

The device which exploded during break hour, Thursday, according to sources within the school, shattered the left arm of an SS 2 student simply identified as Chibuike while undisclosed number of students sustained various degree of injuries.

 

The incident which happened at about 11 am caused serious confusion and panic within the school and its vicinity.

The teenager who gunned down classmates at a California high school before shooting himself died Friday, leaving detectives baffled over the motive of a Boy Scout with no obvious alarm bells in his background.

Nathaniel Berhow died in a hospital one day after shooting himself in the head at the end of a 16th birthday rampage that left two fellow students dead.

A policewoman, Insp Emem Okon, on Friday told an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court that a school proprietor, Timothy Onyiriuka, 45, allegedly defiled a 14-year-old student (name withheld) with special needs in his care.
Onyiriuka, 45, who resides at No. 8, Idowu Bale St., Oke-Ira, Kekere, Ajah, Lagos is charged with defilement contrary to Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
