Alleged P&ID Scam: Court Fixes Nov.27 For Hearing

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, adjourned the hearing on the application for bail variation of James Nolan, a Briton, until Nov. 27.

Justice Okon Abang, who made this known, said the development was to allow Nolan’s counsel, Paul Erokoro, SAN, study the counter-affidavit filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)’s lawyer, Ekele Iheanacho, in opposition to the Briton’s plea.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Justice Abang had, on Wednesday, fixed the hearing of the application for variation of Nolan’s bail conditions to Friday.

Alleged P&ID Scam: EFCC Files Fresh Charges Against Briton

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Thursday, filed fresh charges against James Nolan, a Briton, at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The EFCC’s Counsel, Ekele Iheanacho, had, at the resumed trial, told Justice Okon Abang that the anti-graft agency had filed an amended charge dated November 20.

The lawyer said the EFCC is now bringing up a 32-count charge against the defendants in the case contrary to the initial 16-count charge bordering on money laundering.

Justice Okon Abang of the Abuja division of the Federal High Court on yesterday admitted to bail, a Briton, James Nolan ,who is standing trial in the controversial gas supply contract, (P&ID) that led to $9.6billion judgement liability against Nigeria, in the sum of  N500million and a surety in likesum.

The Judge ordered the Briton who was charged alongside his compatriot, Adam Quinn ,at large , to produce a serving Senator to stand surety for him in the same bail sum.
