What France President, Macron Agreed With Iraq On Saturday

French President Emmanuel Macron has met his Iraqi counterpart, President Barham Salih, following the killing of Qassem Soleimani, Iranian army General.

Maj.-Gen. Qassem Soleimani, Commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, was killed in a US airstrike on his convoy at Baghdad airport on Friday rising the tension of another World War.

The airstrike, which was an order from US President Donald Trump, has since generated a lot of controversies and reactions from world leaders.

The meeting, according Macron’s office, was to make efforts to dampen tensions in the Middle East.

Nnamdi Kanu Postpones Saturday Radio Broadcast

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has via his verified Facebook page announced  that he’ll be postponing the proposed Saturday Radio broadcast to Sunday, 8th of December.

Gabon leader to return Saturday after long illness abroad

Gabonese President Ali Bongo, who is convalescing in Morocco after suffering a stroke five months ago, will return home this weekend for the third time since he fell ill, his office said on Thursday.

Bongo “will leave Morocco to return to Gabon on Saturday March 23,” presidential spokesman Ike Ngouoni said in a statement.

“(He) is delighted to return to his fellow countrymen… and wishes to give his warmest thanks… to the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, for his excellent welcome and incomparable support throughout his stay.”

INEC, security chiefs meet ahead of Saturday’s elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) and the security agencies involved in the conduct of the general elections met on to concretise security arrangements ahead of Saturday polls.

On Saturday 9th March 2019, Nigerians are expected to elect Governors in 29 States, as well as members of Houses of Assembly in all the States of the Federation.

There will also be elections into FCT council areas as well as supplementary National Assembly polls in some part of the country where elections did not hold on the 23rd of February.

Organisation to observe Saturday’s elections secretly

THIRD Eye, an organization that monitors the environment secretly during elections is to operate in  Anambra State in today’s (Saturday)election.

It is a pilot programme initiated by Mr. Uche Ubajaka, who is the project coordinator, in collaboration with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and one of the registered election observers for the 2019 polls.
