I Lost 2 Pregnancies In SARS Custody – Teacher Tells Judicial Panel

A teacher, Mrs Ndubisi Obiechina, has narrated how she lost two pregnancies while in the custody of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) over a suspect to whom she was distantly acquainted.

Narrating her ordeal before the Lagos State Judicial Panel on End SARS protest, Ndubisi said she was detained and tortured along with her husband, Okwuchukwu, for 22 days by SARS in 2017.

‘They brutalised me in the name of interrogating me. As a pregnant woman, I did not eat or drink for one week and in the process, I lost the baby.’

SARS: Presidential Panel Approves 5-Point Demand From Protesters

The Presidency has said the Presidential Panel on the Reform of the now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has approved the five-point demand from Nigerians, who have been protesting across the country since last week.

This was contained in a statement on Tuesday and signed by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser of Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
