Former Emir of Kano and leader of Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, has counselled Nigerians to stop insulting and cursing leaders over the hardship faced in the country. He made the call while addressing Tijjaniyya adherents from seven states of the North-West geopolitical zone on Tuesday in Sokoto State, according to a statement. The former Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor advised that instead of cursing leaders, Nigerians and Tijjaniyya adherents should be prayerful, expressing optimism that Nigeria will be better. He also warned against disobedience to constituted authorities, noting that things should be done in accordance with the law. Sanusi was quoted as saying, “What is expected of us now is patient, fervent prayers and we must stand up to get things better in our own way through legitimate ways. Outcry Over Arrest Of Sanusi As Pics Of New Home Emerge

The Kano state government has come under attack over the banishment of dethroned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to Nasarawa state.

Sanusi who was dethroned on Monday by Governor Ganduje-led administration was banished to Awe village where he will not be allowed to have visitors until further notice.

On Wednesday morning, pictures showing the alleged new home of deposed Emir posted by activist Deji Adeyanju appeared on Twitter and has since caused an uproar in different corners as some Nigerians called for Sanusi’s release and rights to be respected.

Veteran singer, Eedris Abdulkareem has mocked Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi over his dethronemnet by the Kano state government.

Following Sanusi’s dethronement, the Kano state government immediately named one of the sons of late Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, Aminu Ado Bayero as the 15th Fulani Emir of the state.
