Last week, the issue of cattle herders and the controversy over the modus operandi of their business, resonated in Nigeria once again. It has literally become a recurring decimal in the country. This time, the government wants to reactivate the grazing routes and convert them to ranches. Katsina Spends ₦200m On Demarcation Of Cattle Routes

The Katsina State government has expended a whopping sum of ₦200 million in demarcating grazing areas and cattle routes as part of effort to curtail herdsmen and farmers clashes in the state.

The state government has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maradi State government in Niger Republic on the movement of cattle and herdsmen as well as the tracking of cattle rustlers and other criminals within the two countries.
