The case involving former Nigeria international, Nwankwo Kanu, and AMCON over the takeover of his hotel will resume on January 28 at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos as the parties involved hope for a final resolution.

A Federal High Court had ordered that the hotel named Hardley Apartments and located on Waziri Ibrahim Crescent on Victoria Island, Lagos, be locked up after an unresolved issue with AMCON dating back to 2015.

Defection Looms As Imo Assembly Resumes Today

The lawmakers at the Imo State House of Assembly will on Tuesday (today) resume from their one month Christmas and New Year break.

The lawmakers had, on December 24, adjourned till January 21 after passing into law the 2020 budget estimate presented by Emeka Ihedioha, who has now been sacked by the Supreme Court as the governor of the state.

Washington resumed talks with the Taliban in Qatar Saturday, both sides said, three months after President Donald Trump abruptly halted diplomatic efforts that could end America’s longest war.

The British pound slid against the euro and dollar Monday, the start of a pivotal week for Britain and the European Union to strike a Brexit deal.

European stock markets also retreated as weak Chinese data offset a partial trade deal between China and the United States, analysts said.

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter resumed teaching Sunday school at Maranatha Baptist Church in his hometown of Plains, Georgia, on Sunday after recovering from hip surgery, a spokeswoman for the Carter Center said.

WSB-TV streamed Carter’s lecture, showing the 94-year-old ex-president smiling and talking while seated in a white cushioned chair at the podium.

He was released from the hospital on May 16 after falling and breaking his hip as he was preparing to leave for a turkey-hunting trip, the Carter Center said at the time.

Prince Harry resumes work after son Archie’s birth

Britain’s Prince Harry returned to work on Thursday, three days after the birth of his son, to mark one year until the 2020 Invictus Games, the international sporting event he founded for military personnel wounded in action.

The games, during which veterans take part in sports including wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, and indoor rowing, will be held in The Hague next year.
