We Admitted Results By Uzodimma Because INEC Didn’t Object

The Supreme Court has explained why it accepted the results sheets presented by the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma.

The apex court disclosed that the result sheets by Uzodinma became admissible because the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, did not counter them when produced by the APC governor.

In a copy of the judgment released yesterday, the Supreme Court explained that the Court of Appeal and the election petition tribunal misread the pleadings by Uzodinma and APC in their dismissal of the petition and appeal.

Melaye Accuses INEC Of Collating ‘Magic Results’

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Kogi West Senatorial election,  Senator Dino Melaye, has rejected the outcome of the poll, saying what was being collated and released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are magic results.

He also decried the wantom killings that characterised the exercise and the governorship election in the state.

WAEC Releases Nov/Dec 2019 Examination Results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says the results of 9,457 candidates who sat for the Second Series of its West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for (private candidates) are to be investigated before they would be released.

The council’s Head of National Office, Mr Olu Adenipekun, said this at a news conference to announce the results of candidates who participated in the 2019 WASSCE (Private).

Afghan Election Results Delayed Again

Preliminary results from Afghanistan’s presidential elections have been delayed for nearly a month, officials announced Sunday, a lengthy postponement likely to stoke political uncertainty and allegations of fraud.

Afghans went to the polls for a first-round vote on September 28, and initial results were supposed to have been released October 19.

But more than a week after saying the Independent Election Commission would miss that deadline, commission chairwoman Hawa Alam Nuristani said the results now would not be released until November 14.

“We have already apologised for missing the date, but this doesn’t mean failure,” Nuristani told reporters.

WAEC releases 2019 WASSCE results, withholds 180, 205

The West African Examination Council (WAEC), yesterday, released results of this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), with 64 per cent pass rate.

Head of Nigeria National Office (HNO), Mr. Olu Adenipekun, who disclosed this to journalists at WAEC’s Yaba office in Lagos, said out of the 1,590,173 candidates that sat the examination, 1, 020, 519 candidates, representing 64.18 per cent, obtained credits and above in minimum of five subjects, including English and Mathematics.

This is 10 per cent higher than last year’s results, where 50 per cent of the candidates obtained a credit pass in five subjects,

JAMB releases 15,490 withheld results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said it has released 15,490 results of candidates who were suspected of being involved in examination malpractices.

JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, in a statement released in Abuja on Monday said “the board has further cleared and released the results of 15,490 candidates in this category.”

Benjamin said the decision followed an expert review of the allegations against the candidates after they were asked to upload certain credentials for scrutiny.

“At the end of the review exercise, the affected candidates were classified into five groups of candidates who have sufficiently proven innocence,” Benjamin said.

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign team has accused the People’s Democratic Party 2019 presidential candidate, Atiku Abukabar of parading fake results.

Court declines to stop announcement of Rivers poll results

Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court Abuja on Wednesday refused to stop the collation of results of Rivers State Governorship and House of Assembly election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on March 9, 2019.

INEC had last week following the report of its fact finding committee on Rivers election fixed Wednesday, March 20, for the resumption of collation, conclusion and announcement of the remaining results in the election.

The electoral body had suspended the electoral process after some military personnel and armed men invaded it’s collation center in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended indefinite collation of Nasarawa local government area, following criminal destruction of electoral materials by suspected thugs.
Results of 43 local council areas had already declared. Incumbent Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won in 29 local government and Eng. Abba Kabiru Yusuf held firm in 14 local government areas declared so far.

I announced results under duress, INEC official laments

The Collation Officer of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area in Bauchi State, Mrs. Dominion Anosike, has said that she announced the results of the election under duress to save her life from the hands of political thugs who invaded the collation centre on Saturday night.
