FG Begins Remodelling Of Grazing Reserves Into Ranches

The Federal Government has begun remodelling of grazing reserves into ranches in seven states as part of efforts to transform and modernise the country’s livestock industry.

The Executive Secretary, National Commission for Nomadic Education (NCNE), Prof. Bashir Usman, made this known on Tuesday in Zaria at the opening of a three-day capacity building workshop on the remodelling of grazing reserves into ranches.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the training was organised by NCNE for 120 nomadic education extension agents and other officers of the commission.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna, yesterday, reserved judgment for November  7, on the appeal filled by Alhaji Isah Ashiru, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the March 9  election.

Ashiru and the PDP had approached the Appeal Court to challenge the verdict of the Kaduna State Governorship Tribunal that upheld the return of Governor Nasiru El-Rufai of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as duly elected by majority and lawful votes.

The Justice Ibrahim Bako-led Tribunal had dismissed the petition of the PDP and its candidate for lacking in merit.

$48b forex inflows, $45b reserves stabilise naira

Rising dollar inflows through the Investors’ and Exporters’ (I&E) Forex Window and foreign reserves accretion have stabilised the naira in the official and parallel markets.

The I&E Forex Window has attracted $48 billion to the economy in 24 months, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed in its updated report on the dollar inflows.

The report also showed that foreign reserves have risen to $45 billion.
