President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday extended birthday wishes to former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, as he turns 87 years on January 18.

The President, in a statement made available to NAN by his Spokesman, Femi Adesina, joined family and friends to celebrate Anyaoku’s exemplary life of dedication to God, country and humanity.

He congratulates the renowned diplomat for the many years of national and international service, commending his efforts in always projecting Nigeria to the world, and ensuring that the world comes to terms with the position of the country on global issues.

Dr. Iwuagwu, a first class brain and unassuming gentleman, hails from Owu-Amakohia Ikeduru. He holds a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Project Management from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
