Drugs Abuse: Gov. Fintiri Tasks Religious Leaders On Awareness

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has called on religious leaders to create more awareness against drug abuse, especially among the youth in the state.

Fintiri made the call during the general assembly and presentation of the 1442 Islamic calendar and prayer time by the state’s Muslim Council in Yola on Saturday.

He said that this would help the youth to succeed in life and to reduce the rate of crime such as kidnappings, farmers/headers clashes and the menace of `Shilaboys’.

Islamabad, Pakistan – A lack of consensus between religious leaders and the Pakistani government has seen Friday congregational prayers still being held at some mosques across the country, in defiance of government guidelines on social distancing amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

In the capital, Islamabad, hundreds gathered at the Red Mosque, led by hardline religious leader Abdul Aziz, to offer prayers, standing shoulder-to-shoulder and filling the mosque’s main hall to capacity.
