US: Presidency Reacts To Trump’s Impeachment

The US presidency also known as the White House has hit back at lawmakers after President Donald Trump was impeached, slamming the “illegitimate articles of impeachment” and voicing confidence the president would be acquitted in the Senate.

“Democrats have chosen to proceed on this partisan basis in spite of the fact that the President did absolutely nothing wrong,” spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said in a statement, calling the votes in the House of Representatives an “unconstitutional travesty”.

The United States, US Embassy has condemned the recent violent attacks on humanitarian aid workers in Nigeria.

Four aid workers, working on a health project implemented by the INGO Action Against Hunger, were recently murdered by Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents.

They were among the six aid workers who were abducted on 26 July when their convoy came under attack near Damasak, in Mobbar local government area.

One of the drivers was killed during the attack and another was earlier executed on 24 September 2019.

Gov. Abiodun Reacts As Women Protest Exclusion

Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, has promised women in the state that more of them would be appointed in the State Executive Council, as well as agencies and boards.

Abiodun, who spoke following the recently released list of commissioners, said the list was not exhaustive, adding that new commissioner positions reserved exclusively for women would be unveiled shortly.

The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr Edward Kallon, has condemned the execution of four aid workers by Boko Haram in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno.

“I am deeply saddened and outraged by the news of the tragic killing of four aid workers who were held captive by armed groups for almost five months,” stated Mr Kallon.
